Up and Running

First I'd like to thank my wonderful friend Kevin for setting this up for me. He is such a genius! If I could clone a husband...it would be him. Sadly that is not the case...yet.

Since this little blog site was started I've moved back to "the Promised Land". Oh yes. There are those who would argue that Oklahoma is FAR from utopia. We don't have an ocean. We just recently began getting Starbucks in our "big cities". And beer is only 3.2% alcohol...far below the level of most other states.

But to those people I say "Bollocks!" Like Reese Witherspoon in "Sweet Home Alabama"...it has taken me time away from "home" to realize just how splendid it is! Allow me to list the Top 10 reasons I'm happy to be home.

1. Recently everyone in New Orleans and Houston (generally much more favorable cities to young people than OKC) decided to "relocate" to "the Promised Land". Heck we even have our very first PRO sports team (on loan of course) ...Welcome to the Promised Land Hornets!

2. It's a heck of a lot warmer here than it was in Omaha! I can actually toss all my down coats and tire chains!

3. After my 10-year reunion this summer I found that there must be a shortage of attractive, single, normal women in OK...so my chances of finding a non-Yankee husband here would probably be better. HA!

4. My family and friends are less than a 10 hour drive away.

5. When I need something done at my home...I just call my dad who comes up that week to fix it AND takes me to dinner!

6. Did I mention I'm within driving distance to my Cowboy Basketball games???

7. The southern men are better looking, more polite, and not nearly as messed up as men in other parts of the country.

8. The air just smells better here.

9. I don't live right by one of the military's hottest spots anymore...so my chances of being nuked are far less.

10. People don't look at you funny when you talk about how much you LUV fried okra.

Well kiddies...do stay tuned. Now that I've figured out this whole "posting" business...I'm sure I'll be doing it much more frequently now. Have a splendid Thanksgiving! And be sure to call your loved ones!

Smooches!
